Birding
Rose Mary Huber is an avid birding (birdwatching) enthusiast. While tending to her family’s walnut trees in her childhood, Huber took a special interest in the critters who would visit the trees. The many different species of birds that would come to visit her backyard absolutely fascinated her! By observing the birds in her own backyard, Huber became well-acquainted with some of the most majestic animals in California. She would jot down notes about each bird and then compare their specific markings and other features to her trust guidebook. Each time she saw a different species of bird, she felt like she had made a thrilling discovery! That excitement has not left Huber, even after she has embarked on birding and birdwatching adventures all throughout the United States. The opportunity to observe any animal in their natural habitat is a privilege to Rose Mary. That’s part of what makes her passion for nature conservation and bird protection so strong and resilient.
National Audubon Society
Rose Mary Huber is a proud supporter of the National Audubon Society. She has volunteered locally in her community and taken an active pledge to support the nonprofit’s advocacy and education efforts. As someone who is passionate about educating others, the opportunity to advocate for the National Audubon Society feels like a privilege. Her efforts in pushing for environmental conservation and bird protection largely center around what comes natural to her: teaching! Informing the public about conservation efforts can go a long way in actively bringing the collective together. National Audubon Society relies heavily on that notion by hosting various birding and birdwatching events with an educational focus.
